5 Silent signs that show that stress makes you sick!

Nowadays, people are more stressed than ever, and according to statistics, nearly a third of the world's population is mentally and / or physically affected by stress.

So, if you have any of the symptoms that we present in this article, it proves that your stress is making you sick. Find out how to stop it!

1. Buttons causing itching:

If you are suddenly covered with red bumps and itchy, stress may be the cause. When your body experiences excessive stress (either for a short or long time), your immune system becomes foul and your body starts releasing chemical histamine to fight your disease.

So, if the stress does not end, you essentially develop an allergic reaction and, boom, bumps appear galore. When your immune system is also weakened by stress, your skin may also be irritated by things it has never been sensitive to, such as soap, cold or heat, lotions or laundry detergents.

2. Your weight starts to fluctuate:

"Stress triggers the release of the hormone cortisol, which impairs your body's ability to treat blood sugar and changes the way you metabolize fats, proteins and carbohydrates, which can lead to weight gain or loss.

Says Shanna Levine, a medical doctor and clinical instructor at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. Stress can also lead to unhealthy behaviors such as overeating or undernutrition.

3. You continue to have headaches:

If you have never had a headache but your head starts to hurt you suddenly, you may be too stressed. Stress releases chemicals that can cause changes in the nerves and blood vessels in the brain, causing a headache.

4. Gastrointestinal problems:

Stress can disrupt the function of your gastrointestinal tract in more ways than one. The body can produce more digestive acid, which leads to heartburn. It can also slow the emptying of the stomach, causing gas and bloating, and can even increase the number of contractions of the colon, causing cramps and diarrhea.

5. You are still cold:

Stress weakens the immune system, making you more vulnerable to disease. When people are stressed, they get sick, a cold or cold sore that appears because the immune system can not fight bacteria and viruses, says Dr. Levine.
