5 major feminine hygiene mistakes that can affect your health

At the time of our ancestors, we rarely spoke of the female body. Periods of menstruation as well as sexuality were considered taboo subjects. This has led many women to remain ignorant of their own bodies.

While today's women are generally more educated about the female body than women in the past, there are still very common practices that women follow that are detrimental to their health. Here are a few.

1. Wear panty liners every day:

Although panty liners are designed to absorb vaginal discharge and blemishes, they should only be worn between the beginning and the end of your period.

Panty liners create a wetter environment, and if you wear them all the time you will be at greater risk for vaginal infections.

2. Do not change the buffers often enough:

The instructions on the buffer boxes usually say to change the buffer every 4 to 8 hours, including at night, but in reality, you should change them more regularly than this. Doctors strongly recommend changing them every 4 hours to eliminate the risk of toxic shock syndrome.

3. Stay in a wet swimsuit:

When you are by the pool, it is common to spend all day in your swimsuit. But, wearing your wet swimsuit for an excessive length of time may allow bacteria to grow, which can cause various infections.

4. Wear underwear and lingerie made of synthetic fibers

When buying underwear, many of them focus on the look and fit before considering the composition (the fabric material). Synthetic fibers can be harmful for a woman because they can promote sweating and irritation, which can be especially bad for women who are prone to yeast infections.

5. Use an enema pear:

Some women use enema pears to clean their vaginas. This is a device that flushes water into the vagina to eliminate vaginal secretions. However, this instrument will not only clean the "bad" bacteria, but it will also clean the good ones, disrupting the vaginal flora. The vagina is actually designed to stay clean with natural secretions.
