Five best varieties of marijuana to relieve headaches

Anyone who has suffered from a migraine knows that it can be debilitating and painful. In addition, the symptoms are often resistant to pharmaceutical analgesics. There is an effective herbal alternative that is also one of the most powerful medicinal plants in the world.

Doctors have treated migraines with medical cannabis since the 1840s, but the prohibition of marijuana has largely prevented the scientific community from doing much research on the subject until recently.

The specificity of Cannabis:

The reason cannabis is so effective in medicine is directly related to its ability to interact with body receptors that inhibit inflammation and prevent disease.

Cannabis does it so well, that few drugs can compete with its power level which is essentially without side effects.

CBD has been shown to be very effective in treating migraines because of its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. THC is also helpful in relieving the symptoms of migraine because of its ability to reduce pain.

A new study published this week by the University of Colorado's Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences examined the effects of  inhaled and ingested cannabis in migraine patients, and the results confirmed what previous studies had begun to do.

- The average number of migraines decreased from 10.4 per month to 4.6

-About 40% of subjects reported positive effects

-19.8% of subjects said medical marijuana helped prevent migraines

-11.6% of subjects reported that cannabis stopped migraines

-About 85% of subjects reported having fewer migraines per month with cannabis

-Approximately 12% saw no change in the frequency of migraine with cannabis

-Only about 2% experienced an increase in the frequency of migraine Inhalation methods appeared to produce the quickest effects and were more likely to stop migraines.

As expected, edible cannabis took longer to relieve and was more likely to induce negative side effects such as drowsiness and too much euphoria (which was reported in 11.6% of participants).
